Bob Bradshaw and Flynn will be performing at a special St.
Patrick’s Day event at Club Passim, 47 Palmer Street in Cambridge, the premier folk-music venue in
greater Boston. Flynn and Bradshaw will be accompanied by Ian Kennedy (guitar/fiddle), Jordan Alegant
(stand-up/electric bass), and Seth Botos (drums/percussion). Flynn and Bradshaw will also be performing
songs from their current songwriting collaboration for the first time.
Singer-songwriter Bob Bradshaw, who hails from Cork, Ireland, has spent the past twenty-five years
honing his craft throughout Europe and the US. From busking in Lisbon, Munich, and Copenhagen
to forming the influential Bay-area band Resident Aliens and earning his degree at Boston’s Berklee
College of Music, Bradshaw has experienced life through the prism of music. Bradshaw, who is releasing
his fifth album next month, has been called a “cross between Ray Davies, Ryan Adams, and Randy
Newman”, and his take on Americana evokes the soul-searching of musical influences ranging from John
Hiatt to Steve Earle. Bob’s music is available at his website, www.bobbradshaw.net.
Flynn has enjoyed a similarly eclectic musical journey. Originally from County Wicklow, Ireland,
Flynn has enjoyed a vibrant career in a wide range of musical endeavors, as a musician, songwriter,
composer, and producer. The founder of Boston’s legendary Cliffs of Dooneen, with whom he had a top-
ten hit and toured with Nirvana and Smashing Pumpkins, Flynn has released four critically acclaimed
and commercially successful solo albums. His first, On Your Way, won the Boston Music Award
for “Outstanding Debut Album of the Year”. His latest releases, infused with an honest, emotionally
powerful view of life, reflect Flynn’s American journey. He has shared the stage with the Allman
Brothers, Ellis Paul, and Simple Minds, among many other artists, and brings energy and passion to his
live performances. Flynn has also composed and performed his music for a number of films, including the
Farrelly brothers’ Stuck on You (with Cher), the stage, and television. Flynn’s music is available at his
website, www.flynnmusic.com.
This special concert will be the CD Release Party for Bob Bradshaw’s new album, Home. This
collection of twelve original songs, featuring guest musicians Duke Levine, Annie Lynch, Dan Gurney,
Maeve Gilchrist, and Scoop McGuire, captures the listener with “its far-ranging, sometimes anguished,
occasionally hopeful and always engaging songs” (Tom Franks, Folkwords UK, 2012).
