WERS Contest Rules
All participants agree to and are bound by official rules, and WERS reserves the right to change or establish additional rules at any time.
WERS contests are open to all listeners 18 years and older, or with parental approval. Employees of WERS and other stations in the greater Boston area and their families are ineligible to win. Participants may win only one contest every 20 days. One winner per household. WERS is not responsible for items stolen, damaged, or lost in the mail. Decisions of management are final. WERS holds the right to reuse Winner’s name, voice or likeliness without compensation. WERS reserves the right to make changes in contest rules upon announcement, and is not responsible for telephone malfunctions or other errors in connection with the call.
Each contestant agrees that WERS can use his/her voice, name, and likeliness for promotional purposes without additional compensation.
WERS contests are limited to one prize every 20 days. There may be only one winner per family or household in any 20 day period. In the case of prizes with a retail value of over $500, Winner will be ineligible to win another prize for six months following the date of the contest.
Each qualifier must disclose his or her legal name, address, email, and telephone number. Any person found to have supplied false or misleading information may be disqualified from the contest and therefore forfeit the prize.
If the Winner is instructed to pick up his or her prize at the WERS studio, and it has not been claimed by the time of the show/event, the Winner forfeits the prize and WERS reserves the right to select another winner. Prizes are non-transferable and substitutions of cash or equivalent are not allowed except at the discretion of WERS.
If the Winner is instructed to pick up his or her prize at the WERS Studios, the address is: 180 Tremont Street, Boston, MA. Detailed directions can be found on the directions page.
If a concert or other ticketed event has been awarded as a prize and the concert or event is postponed, rained out, cancelled or does not occur for any other reason beyond the control of WERS, WERS will not be responsible for replacing the prize. No proxies (authorized agents or written authorizations) are accepted.
Some concert prizes may be in the form of a single ticket, not a pair of tickets. The Winner will be notified at the time of winning if the prize is a single ticket.
Dates for concerts, flight departures/arrivals, weekend stays, etc. cannot be changed by the Winner. If the Winner is not able or chooses not to accept prize “as is,” the Winner forfeits his or her prize. WERS reserves the right to select another winner. The Winner is responsible for all costs associated with travel to any venue or event for which a prize is awarded, unless otherwise specified.
WERS will not be responsible for lost, stolen, misdirected, or late mail.
Movie tickets are an invitation and do not guarantee entry.
Contests are void where prohibited or restricted by law. All Federal, State, Local laws and regulations shall apply.
No purchase or consideration in necessary to win.
Decisions by WERS regarding winners and all contest details are final and binding in all respects.
If the Winner is a minor (under the age of 18), prize will be awarded to the Winner’s parent or legal guardian.
Odds of winning are undeterminable and depend on varying telephone response rates, internet access and/or the volume of entities received. If any portion of the above rules is determined to be unenforceable due to local or state laws, all other portions of these official rules shall remain in effect.
On-Air Contests: No liability is assumed by WERS for faulty, mis-transcribed, misdirected or misdialed telephone communication or technical difficulties experienced by callers throughout the call-in portion of the contest. Calls for contestants are taken in order of receipt at (617) 482-8890.
