Yeah U2 will have another album coming out soon, which will be number 12 for the Irish band — but they’re not rushing.
In a recent interview with the band, they were very adamant about holding out on the album until it is perfect, as relevant as it can be. They do not want to go the way of older rock bands, which is to consistently put out the same song over and over until only hardcore fans remain. U2 will take the route to stay on top of the world stage, wanting their next album to be “part of the conversation of contemporary culture and music and film and everything else.”
The band will follow up No Line on the Horizon, their last album released in 2009, which saw generally good reviews by critics. Unfortunately, according to Bono, the new one is going somewhat slow.
“There’s a couple of songs that are part of the story we haven’t quite finished. We know we have to spend a couple of years taking these songs around the world, so they’d better be good,” said the singer.
So we will wait in anticipation of U2′s next album, gleaning nothing from the secretive rockers. But if it is in true U2 fashion, it should be worth the wait.
