The NBC hit show Parks and Recreation is currently in its 6th season and has been fairly star-studded, compensating for the loss of Rashida Jones and Rob Lowe from their main cast. Guest stars for this season have included stars such as Henry Winkler and Kristen Bell; and Jeff Tweedy is no exception. The frontman of the band Wilco is set to appear as a new guest star on this season of Parks and Recreation.
Tweedy formed Wilco in 1994 and the band is still presently active. He had failed stints with multiple bands in the 1980s, but Wilco far from failed and brought commercial success. The band has released eight albums as well as two collaboration albums. Tweedy himself has won two Grammy Awards.
On Parks and Recreation he will be playing a member of fictional band, Land Ho!, which is long broken up but was once a very popular band in Indiana. Leslie and Andy are trying to convince him to reunite with Land Ho! to play at the Unity Concert they’re throwing, celebrating the merger between Pawnee and Eagleton. However, there’s still a grudge he’s holding about the break-up, so it will definitely take some convincing from the Pawnee Parks department.
If you enjoy the talents of Wilco, and the wit of Parks and Recreation, tune into Jeff Tweedy’s episode and enjoy the music! (My guess is that they will end up convincing Land Ho! to reunite).
