On The Verge: Firehorse

At 4:15 PM each Tuesday, WERS brings you our On the Verge segment which highlights an artist we think is up-and-coming.

This weeks’ artist On The Verge is Firehorse! Firehorse comes to the WERS studio in support of their sophomore album, Pills From Strangers. Leah Siegel fronts the band, which is one of her many projects. Siegel also sings with Brooklyn Boogaloo Blowout as well as the Citizens Band, which features member from the band Beirut. Along with her many music projects, Siegel amazingly has had time to work on her own clothing line.

Pills From Strangers was released earlier this year on June 25th to very positive reviews from the LA Times, The New Yorker, The Wall Street Journal, and the Boston Phoenix.  Lead tracks from the album include “Our Hearts” and “If You Don’t Want To Be Alone.”  Pills From Strangers was a bit of a different project for Firehorse compared to their debut album, And So They Ran Faster…Siegel cites their sophomore effort as being more carefree and less calculated that the debut record.

Make sure to tune in at 4:15 PM today to catch Firehorse On The Verge!
