Paul Simon and Sting have announced they will be touring North America together in early 2014. Paul Simon & Sting: On Stage Together will cross the country from February 8 through March 16. The two artists will be performing their own songs independently, but also joining each other for collaboration.
The tour includes stops at major arenas in Los Angeles, Toronto, and New York before wrapping up in Orlando. Some tickets go on sale November 12, with the rest available November 18.
The duo played together at a benefit concert in Atlantic City in May. They performed Simon & Garfunkel’s “The Boxer” and Sting’s “Fields of Gold.” Sting spoke to the New York Times about the upcoming tour, saying, “We don’t really know where this is going. We don’t really have a clue how this is going to pan out.”
Sting, who first gained fame as the frontman of The Police, released his eleventh studio album in September. The Last Ship reached number fourteen in the UK, and Sting is currently working on an accompanying musical. It will premiere in Chicago in the spring and Broadway in the fall.
Simon’s latest album, So Beautiful or So What, debuted at number four on the Billboard 200 in 2011. It received widespread acclaim from music critics.
