Earlier today, Arctic Monkeys released the dates and locations of their new and upcoming 2014 US tour. As we speak, the band is in the midst of their European tour and will wrap up the year with a sweep of the west coast. Their 2014 tour visits the east and makes a very special headlining appearance in NYC’s Madison Square Gardens next February. From Miami to Boston, NY to Detroit, Arctic Monkeys are working hard to spread the news of their new EP, AM, released this September.
Britain’s Arctic Monkeys are a prime example of musicians playing for the music. Having climbed up the ladder of success with little marketing and promotion, the indie post punk rock band has skyrocketed to the top of the charts, snagging prestigious BRIT and NME awards year after year.
AM was released this September, marking the fifth studio album within Arctic Monkeys’ discography and remarkably their fifth album consecutively at #1 in the U.K. Turner’s NME interview description of their new record adds relevant perspective: “It sounds like a Dr Dre beat, but we’ve given it an Ike Turner bowl-cut and sent it galloping across the desert on a Stratocaster.” This strange but successful departure from just “four lads playing in a room,” paves way for Arctic Monkeys’ most successful album to date.
The U.S. 2014 tour tickets will be available this Friday, November 8th 9AM EST. The full list of Arctic Monkey’s upcoming gigs can be found here.
