Among the bands is Los Lonely Boys, the blues rock trio best known for their 2004 hit “Heaven” that reached #1 on the Billboard adult contemporary chart and #16 on the Billboard Top 40. The group’s major label debut album was certified double platinum. Their 2006 follow-up peaked at #2 on the Billboard 200, and all of their subsequent studio albums have charted. Hailing from San Angelo, Texas, Los Lonely Boys is composed of three brothers of Mexican heritage. Their music incorporates a variety of styles, including rock, Texas blues, country, and Tejano, a combination they call Texican Rock n’ Roll.
Another artist who will be playing at SXSW 2014 is The Autumn Defense, a duo featuring John Stirratt and Pat Sansone of Wilco. Stirratt plays bass for Wilco while Sansone plays a host of instruments, including keyboards, guitar, and tambourine, but both musicians use a wide variety of tools in The Autumn Defense.
Some other artists included in the band list are British metalheads Bring Me the Horizon, who had a #3 album this past April, as well as Canadian indie band Royal Canoe. Eliza Doolittle, a singer-songwriter with multiple hit songs in the UK, will also appear. Only one Massachusetts band was on the list: Wayland duo Aer.
