On the Verge: Kingsley Flood

At 4:15 PM each Tuesday, WERS brings you our On the Verge segment which highlights an artist we think is up-and-coming.

This week’s artist On The Verge is six-piece rock group Kingsley Flood. Kingsley Flood comes right from Boston’s own backyard, though they share allegiances with from Washington D.C. as well. But we’re happy to share!

The band comes into the studio following the release of their latest full length album, Battles, released in February. They recorded the album with Sam Kassirer, who has worked with Josh Ritter, Langhorne Slim, and fellow Boston band David Wax Museum. Kingsley Flood has certainly earned their accolades, including two Boston Music Awards, as well as two awards from the Boston Phoenix. The local favorites bring the show back to home later this week as well for a headlining show at the Paradise Rock Club. Toy Soldiers and Grace & Tony will be joining them for the event.

Kingsley Flood won’t be too local for too much longer, though. They’re really starting to gain a lot of national attention. Including great quotes from The Boston Globe and The Boston Herald, they’ve been featured in the New Yorker, Rolling Stone, and Paste. Kingsley Flood also performed at this year’s Newport Folk Festival.

Make sure to tune in at 4:15 PM for great local act Kinglsey Flood!
