On September 24th, Chvrches released their debut album, The Bones of What You Believe, to universal critical acclaim. The album debuted at number 12 on the U.S. charts and ranked even higher overseas. The Scottish trio recently revealed in an interview on Billboard.com that they are looking forward to finding creative time to work on new ideas for the next album.
However, fans of Chvrches shouldn’t hold their breath. Shortly after the release of The Bones of What You Believe was released, the band announced an extensive March 2014 UK and European tour that will begin in Dublin and end in Berlin. Currently, the band is at the tail end of an even bigger tour of Australia, Europe, and the United States. In the midst of all this touring, keyboardist Iain Cook reveals that creative plans for the next album have been building up, but finding a time to break from their extensive promotional tour in the near future will be difficult.
In the meantime, fans have plenty of material to enjoy off of the band’s breakout debut album. In December of 2012, Chvrches was ranked 5th most promising new talent by industry professionals and music critics in the BBC’s Sound of 2013 poll. If the critics are correct, Chvrches has a bright future ahead of them and fans are warranted in their anticipation for more material from this promising band.
