Artist of the Week: Tame Impala

Tame ImpalaThis week we’re featuring Tame Impala as our Artist of the Week!

Hailing from Perth, Australia, Tame Impala has spent the better part of five years defining contemporary psych-rock with 2010′s Innerspeaker, last year’s Lonerism and a jam-packed international tour schedule. They’ll be hitting the Agganis Arena with headliners The Flaming Lips, and have cut their teeth with impressive commercial crossover singles “Feels Like We Only Go Backwards” and the monster hit “Elephant”. Lead singer Kevin Parker has devoted a great deal of time to redirecting the band to a place where they have completely developed their own sound and have stepped away from their original 1960′s inspiration more obvious on Innerspeaker.

Bold and experimental, Tame Impala continue to innovate and blend rock with psych to create some of the best music going, WERS is proud to have Tame Impala as our Artist of the Week!
