Concert Watch: Sept. 18-22

jake buggGood morning concertgoers! As the final vestiges of summer make their way out, why not try to squeeze out a little extra summer fun with some live music? Here are some of the shows happening this week to round out the summer:

Wednesday, September 18th – Jake Bugg @ House of Blues

Like the “Lightning Bolt” from the lead single of his self-titled debut, Jake Bugg’s rise to prominence has been unbelievably fast! It’s been less than a year since Jake Bugg released the album and the 19-year-old has already received multiple NME award nominations (including Best Album) and a solid reputation as a dynamic live performer. Recently he’s been performing a couple new songs from his next up-coming album, so it’s likely he’ll also treat fans with a quick preview tonight when he plays at the House of Blues!

Thursday, September 19th – Bleu w/ Will Dailey and Air Traffic Controller @ Paradise Rock Club

Bleau, Will Dailey and Air Traffic Controller have all been staple artists in Boston’s local music scene for years. Bleau graduated from the Berklee College of Music and has written songs with hit artists like Selena Gomez and Hanson, Will Dailey received the Boston Music Award for Best Male Singer-Songwriter three times, and Air Traffic Controller have been key performers at major local festivals like Outside the Box and The Nines Festival, and that’s just this year alone. With all of these artists coming together at the Paradise Rock Club, it’s a local music extravaganza!

Saturday, September 21st and Sunday, September 22nd – Life Is Good Festival @ Prowse Farm in Canton, Massachusetts

Speaking of local festivals, the granddaddy of them all is returning to Prowse Farm in Canton for two full days this weekend. This year’s Life Is Good Festival, which benefits the Life is Good Kids Foundation, features a plethora of your favorite WERS artists including Dawes, Amos Lee, Delta Rae, headliner Jack Johnson and many, many more. WERS will also be at the festival all weekend long, so we hope to see you there!
