Concert Watch: July 24th-25th

Father John MistyTo take the edge off your post-festival blues, dear concert-goers, this week’s lineup is all over the place and full of two-for-one deals that will get you to the weekend. From brand new Prog Rock to old school throwbacks, here is the week in live music at your fingertips.

Tonight – Imagine Dragons w/ The Neighbourhood @ Bank of America Pavilion

Two West-coast fresh faces hit the Pavillion’s stage tonight, headlined by Las Vegas breakouts Imagnie Dragons. Though they’ve been an item since 2008, their first studio album Night Visions has proved to a nonstop hitmaker with “Radioactive” and “It’s Time” hitting the top of the charts. Sharing the bill is still-emerging group The Neighborhood, who are currently turning heads with track “Sweater Weather” and solid material to back it up. This may be your only chance to see them together, so saddle up!

Tomorrow, July 25th - Robert Plant w/ Phosphorescent @ Bank of America Pavilion

The BofA Pavillion has been the Boston headquarters for interestingly matched double acts this summer, and a little bit of Led combined with Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Matthew Houck seems crazy, but it’s more of a changing of the guard. Phosphorescent is poised with new album Muchacho and Plant with what he does best—an arsenal of incredible solo and Led Zeppelin material. Who’s complaining?

Tomorrow, July 25th - Father John Misty @ House of Blues

The ever-effervescent, prancing misanthrope continues his seemingly endless touring schedule this Thursday at the House of Blues with Fear Fun and glimmers of new material that have been sneaking out of the woodwork throughout the summer. Known prior as solo act J. Tillman and a Fleet Foxes drummer, the Father is one of the best live acts going right now for the music-lover that likes their excitement laden with weird irony.

Whether you’re in the mood for a prancing thirty-something or a sixty-something legend, this week belongs to the boys and we’re okay with it. Til next week, friends!
