This is the second full length album for the Floridia-based indie rock group Surfer Blood. In May of 2012 Surfer Blood announced on Twitter that their second album was going to be produced by Gil Norton who has worked with the likes of: Echo & the Bunnymen, Foo Fighters, The Pixies.

The band’s eighth studio album is described as an “adult breakup record” by lead singer Jim Adkins. The album was produced by regular Queens of the Stone Age collaborator, Alain Johannes. The album was made using both digital and analog recording equipment.

This is the second release from British producer Derwin Schlecker, better known as Gold Panda. His 2010 debut album, Lucky Shiner, was a great work of electronic music for the producer and after a three year hiatus from the studio Half of Where You Live is finally here. Gold Panda is able to mix together different chords, textures, and melodies from vinyl to create extremely unique music that you cannot recreate.
