- About WERS
John Fogerty is a musician and songwriter hailing from Berkeley California. He is most well known for being the lead singer and guitarist of Creedence Clearwater Revival. The band was made up of John as frontman, his brother Tom on rhythm guitar, Stu Cook on bass, and Doug Clifford on drums. Even though the band was from California they played a style of southern rock and had lyrics about the bayous and the Mississippi River. CCR released seven albums together before they disbanded in 1972.
The four members of CCR went on to work on their own projects and this was the start of John Fogerty’s solo career. Fogerty and his band The Blue Ridge Rangers have released a total of nine albums since 1973. Fogerty released his ninth solo album, Wrote A Song For Everyone, this past Tuesday which was also the day of his 68th birthday. The new album features some amazing collaborations with artists like the Foo Fighters and Kid Rock in which John Fogerty re-recorded CCR songs like “Fortunate Son” and “Born On The Bayou.”
