New Releases Tuesday

Laura Marling Once I Was An EagleWelcome to New Releases Tuesday on WERS. Every Tuesday we’ll take a look around the music scene and bring you updates on, you guessed it, the new albums coming out this week.

BATHS, OBSIDIAN

Electronic musician and California native, Will Wiesenfeld is better known for his stage name Baths. Wiesenfeld released his third album, Obsidian, under the moniker of Baths and it is a bit different than his previous two albums. Baths’ use of layered vocals, technical piano work, and darker lyrics work perfectly together on Obsidian.

JOHN FOGERTY, WROTE A SONG FOR EVERYONE

This marks the ninth solo studio album for former Creedence Clearwater Revival member John Fogerty. He began recording this album in 2011 and showcases some deep cuts and popular songs performed with some big guest artists. Some of these featured artists include: Foo Fighters, Keith Urban, Miranda Lambert, Zac Brown Band, Kid Rock, My Morning Jacket, Dawes, and many more.

LAURA MARLING, ONCE I WAS AN EAGLE

Once I Was an Eagle is the fourth studio album released by 23-year-old British singer-songwriter Laura Marling. Marling began working on this album immediately after she finished the tour for her previous record. Marling chose not to work with a band for Once I Was an Eagle and instead got help from her producer Ethan Johns and cellist Ruth de Turberville. Laura Marling recorded all of One I Was an Eagle in ten days and the guitar and vocals were recorded live in only one take.
