Arctic Monkeys Live Return

arctic monkeysEnglish indie rock band Arctic Monkeys returned to live performances with their first show of 2013 on Wednesday night.

With their last gig being a short but energetic appearance at the 2012 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony last summer, the group played to a sold out crowd at Colorado’s Majestic Ventura Theatre.

The band announced several headlining concerts throughout the United States before heading back to Europe for a string of festival appearances, including a headlining slot at England’s Glastonbury Festival.

Arctic Monkeys started off their set by debuting “Do I Wanna Know?” After introducing the new song to an enthusiastic crowd, the group went on to play classics from their older albums.

Having moved to Los Angeles in the past year, rumors are the band has started recording a follow up album to their 2011 release Suck it and See. Drummer Matt Helders hinted that they would be working with Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Josh Homme in producing their 5th studio album. The new album is expected to be released sometime later in the year.
