Four years since the release of their third studio album, Tonight, Franz Ferdinand announced the release date of their new album, Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action, August 27th. Hailing from Glasgow, Scotland, the indie alternative band emerged at the peak of the 2000’s post-punk revival. Entering the charts with their debut, self-titled album, Franz Ferdinand continued to experience success throughout their career.
However, after the release of their third record, the lead singer Alex Kapranos stated that the band would not over publicize the following album like they did with Tonight. So, it’s no surprise Franz Ferdinand chose not to release any details of their newest album until now.
The group has played several shows across the world in the past year, including an appearance at this year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. It wasn’t until their most recent set at an intimate show in Glasgow, did the band introduce a few of their new songs.
From band’s press release, Franz Ferdinand hinted at several “interesting” collaborations, though they did not reveal with whom. While the group hasn’t revealed many details of their future tour plans either, here’s to hoping they stop by the New England area.
