Concert Watch: April 24th-26th

Robyn HitchcockGreetings, concertgoers! It’s been a powerful week here in Boston, and there’s an equally compelling concert lineup this week to take the edge off. Let’s take a gander at this week’s lineup:

Tonight, April 24th: Robyn Hitchcock at the Paradise

The prolific guitarist dabbled in a number of bands over his forty years in the business, but has proved himself most powerful when operating as a one-man show. He’ll be gracing the Paradise stage tonight to promote Love in London, a love letter to his English heritage that even the crassest Bostonian is sure to swoon at.

Tomorrow, April 25th: The Milk Carton Kids at Brighton Music Hall

The Californian indie rock kings are bringing their brand of soft, smooth harmony to the Brighton Music Hall this Thursday to mellow out the high-energy Brighton music community. Their recently released third studio album, The Ash and the Clay, has been receiving a good deal of attention, and their vintage guitar, forward-thinking sound is the sweetest lullaby in town.

Saturday, April 26th: JJ Grey and Mofro at the Paradise

This one’s a no-brainer—JJ Grey and Mofro is a group you can see with your spouse, parents, or best friends and still bop your head to the beat with equal comfort. Their upbeat R&B sound, heavy on horns and fun, is an absolute blast live, and the new tracks from 2013 release This River are worth coming out for.

There you have it, concertgoers—as life returns to normal, the music never stops. Have a great week!
