New Releases Tuesday

Frank TurnerWelcome to New Releases Tuesday on WERS. Every Tuesday we’ll take a look around the music scene and bring you updates on, you guessed it, the new albums coming out this week.

PHOENIX, BANKRUPT!

Phoenix, the French rock band who hail from Versailles, have released their fifth studio album, Bankrupt!. Philippe Zdar, one half of the House duo Cassius, coproduced the record along with the band. Bankrupt! Features the lead single, “Entertainment”.

JUNIP, JUNIP

Swedish indie-rock trio, Junip dropped their sophomore eponymous record. The trio is comprised of Jose Gonzalez, Elias Araya and Tobias Winterkorn. Junip is the follow-up to 2010’s Fields. In addition to the two full-length records the trio has released three EP’s, Black Refuge, Rope and Summit, and In Every Direction.

FRANK TURNER, TAPE DECK HEART

Tape Deck Heart, the fifth full-length solo album from British singer-songwriter, Frank Turner has been released. It was produced by Rich Costey who has worked with such acts as Bloc Party, Muse, and Foster The People among many others. Turner was formerly the front man for the post-hardcore act Million Dead before going solo after the band’s breakup in 2005.

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD, I LOVE YOU

The Neighbourhood, the five piece indie rock band from Los Angeles dropped their debut record, I Love You. The band is fronted by Jesse Rutherford and are known for their hit single, “Sweater Weather” which can be heard on 88.9 WERS.
