Phoenix and R. Kelly at Coachella

AFP-Getty_166579346Phoenix has been having an amazing year in 2013. The French band is about to release their fifth studio album Bankrupt! on April 23 after releasing the extremely popular single off of the album “Entertainment.” Phoenix has also been making the rounds on the festival circuit including an amazing performance at Coachella last week.

Phoenix took to the stage with none other than R. Kelly to perform an amazing collaborative rendition of “Ignition.” The band visited Saturday Night Live and performed “Entertainment” and also a medley of two other songs off of the upcoming album “Trying to Be Cool” and “Drakkar Noir.” Before going back for the second weekend of Coachella madness, the band stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live to perform as the musical guest.

Phoenix is not being shy about sharing their new music because the whole Bankrupt! album is available for streaming on iTunes. The only down side to this is that you are only able to stream the album as a whole and it is not split into the separate tracks. Phoenix stepped up their performance on Kimmel by add a song the song “Chloroform” to their medley. All of the songs blended together and it’s difficult to discern whether or not that is a positive thing. Either way you should check out the free Bankrupt! stream on iTunes and see what you think.
