Welcome to New Releases Tuesday on WERS. Every Tuesday we’ll take a look around the music scene and bring you updates on, you guessed it, the new albums coming out this week.

Nottingham native, Jake Bugg has released his debut, self-titled album. The singer-songwriter is just nineteen years old and claims that the moment that he realized his love of music was watching an episode of The Simpson’s featuring Don McLean’s “Vincent (Starry, Starry Night)” . Bugg’s debut album features the singles “Two Fingers” and “Lightning Bolt” which is currently featured in a Gatorade commercial.

Conor J. O’brien, better known by his stage name Villagers, dropped his second full-length record, Awayland. The Ireland-native produced the record on his own, though it features his touring band. The band consists of Danny Snow, James Byrne, Tommy McLaughlin and Cormac Curran. Villagers have toured with the likes of Elbow, Tracy Chapman and Bell X1 among others.

Electronic artist, James Blake, has released his sophomore album, Overgrown. Brian Eno of Roxy Music produced a track on the record. Blake also boasts a track featuring a guest spot from RZA. Blake, who also goes by the name Harmonomix has been nominated for the Mercury Music Prize and was also the runner up for the BBC sound of 2011 poll.
