City and Colour New Single

cityandcolourOn March 27th, Dallas Green, or more commonly known by his stage name City and Colour, announced that he would be releasing a new album titled The Hurry and The Harm on June 4th. Two weeks ago, City and Colour released their single “Of Space and Time” and according to Green’s Facebook page, he was overwhelmed by the amount of plays and support he received from his fans. What started off as a hobby when Green was 16, before he was a part of the post-hardcore band, Alexisonfire, has led to two Juno Awards for the Canadian singer/songwriter.

City and Colour recorded the album with Grammy-nominated producer Alex Newport in Nashville this past winter. Newport has worked with bands like Death Cab for Cutie, The Mars Volta, Frank Turner and City And Colour’s last record, Little Hell. According to Green, the iTunes preorder for the new album will include three extra songs. Little Hell, had more folk influences and Green experimented with different instrumentation than on his previous two albums, so fans should expect him to continue in that direction. Green posted a list of instruments that will be used on The Hurry and The Heart on his Facebook that include bass, drums, keys, pedal steel and various string instruments. He also announced a slew of tour dates, but they are irrelevant to us stateside, but expect more news from him soon!

City and Colour are streaming their song “Of Space and Time” on their Soundcloud.
