The Rocket Summer, solo-project of Bryce Avary based out of Fort Worth, Texas, is coming to the Brighton Music Hall tonight. Avary, a multi-instumentalist and singer-songwriter produces every track on The Rocket Summer records (he even plays all of the instruments, talk about a “one man band”). The Rocket Summer currently has five studio albums under his belt and Avary was named one of AP Magazine‘s “100 Bands You Need To Know.”
Local Natives – House of Blues, Saturday, March 30
Local Natives are an indie rock band based out of Los Angeles. Formerly known as Cavil at Rest, the band released their debut album Gorilla Manor in 2010. Their sound is described as “afropop-influenced guitars with hyperactive dumming and hooky three-part harmonies.” Having the opportunity to see this band at Lollapalooza in 2011, I can fully attest to that description – this is a high energy show that you don’t want to miss out on.
Frightened Rabbit – House of Blues, Tuesday, April 2
Scottish indie rockers, Frightened Rabbit, will be stopping by the House of Blues early next week. Fronted by vocalist and rhythm guitarist Scott Hutchinson, the band has been based out of Glasgow since 2004. The band is currently on tour for their latest release Pedestrian Verse that dropped last month. Pedestrian Verse is the fourth studio album from Frightened Rabbit, you might have heard “State Hospital” or “The Woodpile” spinning on 88.9 since its release.
