On the Verge: Passenger

PassengerAt 4:15 PM each Tuesday, WERS brings you our On The Verge segment which highlights an artist we think is up-and-coming. This week’s artist On The Verge is the British Indie singer-songwriter, Mike Rosenberg more commonly known by his stage name, Passenger.

Rosenberg began his career as the front man for the band of the same name, however they split in 2009 after releasing just one album. Rosenberg chose to keep the name for his solo efforts. After the breakup of Passenger as a band, Rosenberg took to Australia where he gained notoriety after playing the One Movement festival in Perth.

Rosenberg has released three solo albums (all of which were recorded in Australia) as Passenger including his 2009 debut, Wide Eyes Blind, which features collaborations with artists such as Kate Miller-Heidke and Lior. His sophomore record, Flight of the Crow, dropped in 2010. It was his most recent album, 2012’s All The Little Lights—which is actually a double albumthat led to his touring with acts including The John Butler Trio and Ed Sheeran.

Tune in this Tuesday at 4:15 pm to hear an exclusive in-studio performance and interview from Passenger, only here on 88.9 WERS.
