Sunny Day Rainbows Live In Studio

Sunny Day RainbowsLive Music Week happens bi-annually at WERS to raise money to keep our station running. We ask if you can pledge your support in order to keep us live on air, bringing you live performances from your favorite musicians. Pledges can be made here

I was super lucky and got to interview local group, Sunny Day Rainbows when they came in to perform live in studio for the second time! Adam and Tim, otherwise known as Sunny Day Rainbows arrived in studio decked out in their snazzy hats and plaid shirts, ready to play for all of our lovely Playgrounders! Once they were all warmed up – guitars, ukuleles, and harmonicas at the ready – they played their first song, “Let’s have a picnic” a brand new song, not released yet so our Playground listeners got an inside look!

I asked how they got into Children’s music, and Adam explained how after trying “grown-up” music decided to write some fun kids songs instead that both parents and kids can enjoy! Their second song, “Messy Room” was something that both Playgrounders as well as myself can relate to, a song about how messy our rooms can get! I asked Sunny Day Rainbows what WERS meant to them and Adam told us how he has been listening to WERS for years and loves it; he even encouraged our listeners to pledge their support to help provide commercial-free music 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!

Their last song was “At the Playground,” a very fitting song for performing on The Playground! A fun song about playing on the playground served as a perfect anthem for our show, especially when they added in “WERS” to one of the verses.

We had so much fun with these awesome guys, and we were so grateful to have them perform live in studio for the second time!

  2. One of our favorite tunes is Squirrels in the bathtub. You laugh ,smile and chuckle away and never think of the bathtub like you did in the past. These are very talented fun musicians who truly can entertain….
