Welcome to New Releases Tuesday on WERS. Every Tuesday we’ll take a look around the music scene and bring you updates on, you guessed it, the new albums coming out this week.
CAITLIN ROSE, THE STAND-IN
Nashville-based Caitlin Rose has dropped her sophomore record, The Stand-in. Prior to her solo career, Rose was the lead singer of the band Save Macaulay. She began her solo career in 2007 and released her debut EP Dead Flowers in 2008 followed by her 2010 album Own Side Now.
CHELSEA LIGHT MOVING, CHELSEA LIGHT MOVING
Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth has teamed up with Keith Wood of Hush Arbors, Samara Lubelski and John Maloney of the local act Sunburned Hand of the Man to form Chelsea Light Moving. Chelsea Light Moving released their debut self-titled album today.
JIMI HENDRIX, PEOPLE, HELL AND ANGELS
People, Hell and Angels, the fourth posthumous release from Jimi Hendrix is a collection of studio recordings from 1968 and 1969. Twelve tracks off of the record were intended for Hendrix’s follow-up to Electric Ladyland and have been previously unreleased. Buddy Miles and Billy Cox of Band of Gypsies are also featured on the album.
THE MEN, NEW MOON
The Men, the punk band from Brooklyn have released their fourth album, New Moon. Producer Ben Greenberg joined the band which consists of Mark Perro, Kevin Faulkner, Rich Samis and Nick Chiericozzi on this record making them a quintet.
YOUTH LAGOON, WONDROUS BUGHOUSE
Trevor Powers, also known by his stage name Youth Lagoon, has released his sophomore record, Wondrous Bughouse. Powers debut album, The Year of Hibernation was released in 2011. Wondrous Bughouse marks the Boise-based artist’s follow-up release.
