The Wood Brothers – Paradise Rock Club – Thursday, February 28
The Wood Brothers, a pair of sibling musicians Chris and Oliver Wood, put out their first studio album Ways Not to Lose in 2006. The Colorado natives recorded the album in New York City and were listed at “Overlooked 11″ by NPR that year.
Delta Rae and ZZ Ward – The Middle East Downstairs – Saturday, March 2
Folk rockers Delta Rae is a five-piece ensemble primarily made up of 3 siblings: Ian, Eric, and Brittany Hölljes. The band is named after a fictional story the siblings’ mother wrote about a Southern girl, Delta Rae, who summons Greek gods to earth. Topping the bill is ZZ Ward, stage name for Zsuzsanna Eva Ward, an American singer, musician and songwriter who’s track “Put The Gun Down” has been spinning on 88.9 constantly and reached #40 on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart.
Alt-J – Paradise Rock Club – Saturday, March 2
Alt-J is an English indie rock quartet that formed in 2007, the band’s debut album An Awesome Wave came out in 2012. Finding instant success, the debut album won them the 2012 British Mercury Prize beating out Plan B and Richard Hawley. Additionally they were nominated for three Brit Awards and named BBC Radio 6 Music Album of the Year 2012.
