At 4:15 PM each Tuesday, WERS brings you our On The Verge segment which highlights an artist we think is up-and-coming. This week’s artist On The Verge is the “fiery redhead” Anna Haas, who is based out of Nashville, Tennessee where she was born and raised. Haas studied theater and dance right here at Emerson College, and a theatrical performance is something she brings to the stage for every show. After graduating from Emerson, Haas moved to New York to dance and act but returned to Nashville to focus on songwriting.
Anna Haas’ debut album, Crazy Is, was a two-year effort and funded almost entirely by fans on the fundraising website Kickstarter.com and was recorded in both Nashville and New York and features eleven original tracks in a style that Haas calls “Soul-Pop-Cabaret” including the song “Marilyn” which was inspired by Marilyn Monroe and Janis Joplin. Haas can be found frequently performing around Music City but will be returning to New York for a show on April 6th.
Tune in this Tuesday at 4:15 pm to hear an exclusive in-studio performance and interview from
Emerson alum, Anna Haas, only here on 88.9 WERS.
