Passion Pit “Carried Away” Music Video

Passion Pit Carried AwayPassion Pit released the fourth single “Carried Away” off of their most recent album Gossamer in early January, but earlier this month the band released a music video for the upbeat electronic love song. The music video for “Carried Away” came out on Valentine’s Day this year and was uploaded to the passionpitVEVO channel on Youtube. The video was directed by Benjamin and Alex Brewer and was shot by Ben Richardson, the cinematographer behind “Beasts of the Southern Wild.”

The video stars Passion Pit’s lead singer Michael Angelakos in a relationship with One Tree Hill actress Sophia Bush. The video highlights all the ups and downs of a relationship between the two. The music video runs for four minutes and and tells a story in a linear way through the use of subtitles. Both Angelakos and Bush perform over the top gestures of acting out in anger and then somehow making up. Bush seems to be the more outlandish of the two by throwing a vase of flowers at a wall and pretending to stab Angelakos while giving him a haircut.

The video has many quirky and funny moments like when the couple adopts a stray cat and then it destroys their apartment and attacks Angelakos. At the climax of the video Angelakos is in a fight with Bush and he says “you make me sick.” The subtitle then grows larger and words start spewing all around them. In the end the two make up and the video makes a perfect pairing to the song. The whole video is amazing and definitely worth a watch. Take a look HERE.
