Attention all Playground-goers, the best dressed band in America is back in action! Sarah Shannon is back with her pink tutu and inspiring vocals to have you on your feet bopping up and down to the music from the time that you start it until the end! The Not-Its! have been around for more than four years and released their fourth album KidQuake on February 5th!
KidQuake has music for both boys and girls of all ages. These rock and alternative sound songs have fun, crazy, catchy lyrics that will get you to sing along with Sarah and the rest of The Not-Its! If the lyrics don’t have you singing along, the music will definitely get your feet off the ground with Danny Adamson and Tom Baisden on crunchy guitars, Jennie Helman slapping the bass, and Michael Welke on the roaring drums.
KidQuake starts off strong with great beats and tons of energy. If you are ready to bust out your air guitars and drums, the first track “KidQuake!” is just for you. Get ready to roll away with “Let’s Skateboard” where you are able to learn the name of some new tricks and bob your head to the rumbling drums and the pop punk sound! One of my favorite tracks is “Busy”, where the melody changes into a Ska beat with a horn that will have you whistling for hours! “Busy” is filled with comedic lyrics that suggest that we all stop and take it easy from all our activities, errands, and school. The Not-Its! let listeners know that “You rock!” with the chorus of their track “Rock Paper Scissors”. “Rock Paper Scissors” is fun and upbeat filled with amusing lyrics about the old hand game.
The Not-It’s! relate to everyday life and activities in their new album KidQuake and allow for both children and their families to fully enjoy what they are listening to. This pink, black and white filled band will get you moving to a pop punk/rock style of music while being able to know that The Not-Its! love you and everything will always be okay!
