A month has gone by since fans of the French alternative music group, Phoenix received the news of the bands up and coming studio album, Bankrupt! It was only a matter of time before new material from the album was released, and that day has arrived. The band has shared a taste of the new material that’s going to fill the album with release of the song, “Entertainment”. The song captures the unique twang of lead singer’s voice, Thomas Mars; as well as, displaying the vibe of what’s to come within the new record, Bankrupt! The band has stated in various interviews that they are trying to, “create something more experimental from the pop sounds of their previous album, Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix.
Since the 2009 release of their fourth studio album, Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, fans have been anxiously awaiting the release of new material from Phoenix. After the band releasing hits like, “1901” and “Lisztomania” off the last album, it’s safe to say that Bankrupt!, out April 23 in the U.S. and April 22 in the UK, is going to be nowhere shy of that. According to The New Yorker, the band purchased the recording console that Michael Jackson used on Thriller to record the album- how cool!
