Welcome to New Releases Tuesday on WERS. Every Tuesday we’ll take a look around the music scene and bring you updates on, you guessed it, the new albums coming out this week.
NICK CAVE AND THE BAD SEEDS: PUSH THE SKY AWAY
Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds have released their fifteenth studio album, Push The Sky Away. Nick Launay, who is known for working with acts such as Arcade Fire and The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, produced the Australian band’s latest record and it marks their first release without founding member, Mick Harvey, who left the group in 2009.
JAMIE LIDELL: JAMIE LIDELL
British singer and producer, Jamie Lidell dropped his fifth full-length record which is self-titled. Lidell, who currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee, is also a member of the group Super Collider alongside Christian Vogel. Lidell has stated that his self-titled record was influenced by pop and soul from the 1980’s. “What A Shame” is the debut track off the album and Lidell released it on Youtube in November.
BONNIE “PRINCE” BILLY: WHAT THE BROTHERS SANG
Will Oldham, better known by his stage name Bonnie “Prince” Billy collaborated with Dawn McCarthy of Faun Fables and together they have released What The Brothers Sang. The album serves as a tribute album to The Everly Brothers. Bonnie “Prince” Billy’s latest solo album The Marble Downs was released in 2012.
