Ahoy there Playground-goers, if you are looking for some cheap winter family fun, well there is a bunch of cool things to go do all over! Grab the family and bundle up for some fun outside activities or hit up a museum to keep nice and warm!
There are many museums in the greater Boston area that will keep you toasty in this cold weather and allow for you, friends, and family to have a bunch of fun! Every Friday night from 5-9pm drive on over towards the harbor to play with your friends from Arthur as well as Peep from “Peep and the Big Wide World.”
You can also play games, be a part of performances, and hide away from parents in the three story climbing zone at the Boston Children’s Museum for only $1! Before you head to the Children’s Museum stop on over at the New England Aquarium where ticket prices have now gone down due to construction. Tickets are now only $18 for adults, $13 for children ages 3-11 and $16 for seniors!
To get out of the city, take a nice stroll around Harvard Square in Cambridge to hang out at the Curious George bookstore, or if you are interested in seeing some cool as well as extinct animals go visit the Harvard Museum of Natural History where every Sunday from 9am-noon and Wednesdays from 3-5pm (until May) you can get in for free! Looking to go discover some hands on fun, well the first Friday of every month is free from 4:30-8:30pm at the Discovery Museums in Acton, MA! Here there are two museums one for those who like to go out and find something new at the science section and there is also a children’s section where there is something for all ages and you can even be a conductor on a train!
Finally, if you love paintings, drawings, and all different types of art then it is time to go visit the Danforth Museum of Art in Framingham where every Saturday it is free from 10am-noon until March 16th!
There are many events outside the Boston area that will allow you and your family to run around and have fun! The first Friday of every month you can enjoy a free family fun night at the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire from 5-8pm! If you are an animal lover, then it is time to bundle up and head on over to the Rodger Williams Zoo in Rhode Island! For the month of February ticket prices are half off! There are still a bunch of animals outside as well as in the indoor exhibits!
There are a bunch of fun winter activities that you and your family can do, whether inside or outside, there is always something to get your body moving and allow you to have some fun!
