On the Verge: Daredevil Christopher Wright

At 4:15 PM each Tuesday, WERS brings you our On The Verge segment which highlights an artist we think is up-and-coming. This week’s artist On The Verge is from the Eau Clair, Wisconsin based trio The Daredevil Christopher Wright. Jason Sunde, Jon Sunde and Jesse Edgington comprise the band that describes their music as Indie Swamp-Folk.

The Daredevil Christopher Wright formed in 2004 and have since released two full-length albums, In Deference To A Broken Back, and most recently, 2012’s The Nature of Things. Their debut album included collaborations with many musicians but their sophomore release is more simplistic, relying more on the trio and their individual talents. These talents include unexpected harmonies and lyrical storytelling.

The Nature of Things was recorded at futureappletree Studios in Davenport, Iowa and was produced by Patrick Stolley. In addition to the two full-length albums The Daredevil Christopher Wright have also self-released The Daredevil Christopher Wright EP (2005), The East Coast EP( 2009) which is a tour EP, and The Longsuffering Song EP (2011).

Tune in this Tuesday at 4:15 pm to hear an exclusive in-studio performance and interview from The Daredevil Christopher Wright only on 88.9 WERS.
