Let me guess—you’re currently planning your life around Johnny Marr’s announced concert date in Boston this May. So what’s your game plan in the meantime? Okay, okay, we’ve got you covered—here’s what’s great in Boston this week to tide you over.
Saturday, Feb. 9th– Agganis Arena—Passion Pit: Passion Pit began in WERS’s backyard in Emerson College’s Little Building when lead singer Michael Angelakos recorded a couple songs for his girlfriend as a Valentine’s Day gift, and an unstoppable band was born. Currently touring in support of 2012’s Gossamer, the band’s sophomore effort shows no slow in momentum. Also, Matt and Kim will be playing—who can argue with that?
Saturday, February 9th—Brighton Music Hall—Air Traffic Controller: This Boston band’s low profile has grown exponentially in the past year with their 2012 release NORDO, undeniably catchy single “Hurry Hurry”, and a neverending string of gigs around town, and it’s exciting to see them headlining their own show at one of Boston’s bigger alternative venues. Their pop-rock vibe is sure to pick up any Saturday night, so why not this one?
All right, music fans, we’ll see you at the Grammys! I’ll be the one eating nachos on my couch. See you next week!
