Wilco’s Solid Sound Festival Returns

When I think of Wilco, I don’t necessarily think of a large festival band. I think of the critically acclaimed indie group’s iconic albums like the iconic controversial Yankee Foxtrot Hotel, the Grammy winning A Ghost is Born, or their latest release The Whole Love. But two years ago Wilco became a big festival name when they organized a three day celebration called Solid Sound Festival at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art.

The Solid Sound Festival takes place in June and features music, comedy, and art. After the second iteration in 2011, the festival took a hiatus. It’s returning, after not occurring this past year, this upcoming summer. The lineup has not yet been announced, but past artists that have performed have included The Levon Helm Band, Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth, and of course Wilco. “In short, the festival is a fun, fantastic collective experience for Wilco and its community of fans. 2013 will be the third iteration of the festival.”

Pre-sale tickets are now on sale and can be found, along with more information, at the festival’s website.
