New Album From Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds recently announced a new album entitled Push The Sky Away, their first album since 2008’s critically acclaimed Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!!. Scheduled for release on February 19th, the band released a “trailer” for said album featuring some videos of Nick Cave and fellow band member Warren Ellis recording in the studio. Today, they released the understated “We No Who U R”, the opening track from their new album.

Recorded in France and produced by Nick Launay (producer of previous Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds albums Nocturama, Abattoir Blues/The Lyre of Orpheus, and the aforementioned Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!!), it is the first album to not feature long time Nick Cave collaborator Mick Harvey. Cave has stated that this album “illustrate how the internet has influenced ‘significant events, momentary fads and mystically-tinged absurdities’ and ‘question how we might recognize and assign weight to what’s genuinely important.’”
