New Releases Tuesday

Welcome to New Releases Tuesday on WERS. Every Tuesday we’ll take a look around the music scene and bring you updates on, you guessed it, the new albums coming out this week.

Bryan Ferry of Roxy Music has founded The Bryan Ferry Orchestra—a 1920’s style Jazz Ensemble—and their new record The Jazz Age dropped today. The album features new recordings of thirteen Roxy Music tracks as well as jazz instrumentals from Ferry, himself. Roxy Music tracks featured on the album include “Do The Strand”, “Love Is The Drug”, and “Avalon” among others.

R&B singer Alicia Keys released her fifth album, Girl On Fire, today. The record features tracks co-written with artists such as Emili Sande, Gary Clark Jr., Frank Ocean and John Legend among others. Girl On Fire marks Ms. Keys’ first release on the RCA label, having previously been with J records. It was written shortly after her marriage to rapper and producer, Swizz Beatz as well as the birth of their first child.
