Fiona Apple released an open letter explaining that she is cancelling her upcoming tour dates due to her dog Janet’s downhill condition. Throughout the letter , that was both handwritten and typed out, she explains Janet to be a motivator in her life, sitting under the piano while she crafted her songs. Apple showed a deep understanding for how Janet felt about her own death and what it represents for life in general. As one can imagine, this letter is just as eclectic and elegant as Apple’s song writing style. The letter was posted on her Facebook page.
Although fans are anxious to hear more of her latest, The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than the Driver of the Screw and Whipping Cords Will Serve You More Than Ropes Will Ever Do (which you can read our review of here), Apple asks for fans’ blessings as she shares Janet’s last breaths.
