What do Elton John, Daft Punk, and Adele all have in common? They have all participated in the long tradition of collaborating with the film industry. TV on the Radio’s lead singer, Tunde Adebimpe, has added himself to this long list of artists by singing a track titled “Queen of Midnight”. The track was written by acclaimed graphic novelist Alan Moore, who is best known for his work on Watchmen and V for Vendetta, for the upcoming short film Jimmy’s End.
While this is Adebimpe’s first song written and performed in a film, this is not his debut in the film industry. Adebimpe has acted and even directed a surprising amount of films for such an active member of the music industry. If I were to take a guess, I would say that “Queen of Midnight” is just a sign of what’s to come. This could easily be the start of a long and interesting musical relationship with the big screen.
You can listen to “Queen of Midnight” above and expect Jimmy’s End to be released November 25.
