I absolutely love it when a band or artist takes the time to think beyond the music and the fame to bring us a further understanding of our human relationship with music in general. The xx, in coordination with audio company “Sonos”, have decided to help create an art exhibition around their newest album, Coexist, naming it (appropriately) “Coexist”.
The reason the name is so appropriate is because it explores the human relationship with machines in our everyday lives, something that certainly becomes more and more relevant as our society progresses technologically with each passing day. The exhibition will take place in Los Angeles at the Sonos Studies and will run from November 15th to December 23rd.
In addition to this exhibition (and if you don’t have the time to run over to California), you can still enjoy their album in an aesthetic sense by downloading their interactive smart phone app, which allows you to sync the app up directly to each song on the album where it reacts to your touch and movement to create a more immersive experience while enjoying their music.
