New Releases Tuesday

Welcome to New Releases Tuesday on WERS. Every Tuesday we’ll take a look around the music scene and bring you updates on, you guessed it, the new albums coming out this week.

SOUNDGARDEN: KING ANIMAL
Rock band, Soundgarden released their sixth studio album, King Animal, today. It is their first album of new music in sixteen years—the last being Down On The Upside in 1996. The Seattle band led by Chris Cornell released a compilation album, Telephantasm, in 2010 for which they toured extensively while working on King Animal.

ONE DIRECTION: TAKE ME HOME
One Direction, the British boy-band that has been sweeping the nation dropped their sophomore album, Take Me Home.The new record features tracks written by artists such as Dr. Luke, Ed Sheeran and Max Martin. One Direction formed as a result of the music competition television show The X Factor, and are currently signed to Simon Cowell’s record label, Syco Records.

CHRISTINA AGUILERA: LOTUS
Pop queen and judge of The Voice, Christina Aguilera’s latest album, Lotus, was released today. It features guest spots from other Voice judges Blake Shelton and Cee Lo Green. Lotus is the seventh studio album from the thirty-one-year-old singer and was inspired by events in her life such as her divorce and her time as a judge on The Voice.
