Live Music Week happens bi-annually at WERS to raise money to keep our station running. We ask if you can pledge your support in order to keep us live on air, bringing you live performances from your favorite musicians. Pledges can be made here.
The DJs at WERS are responsible not only for managing the music that plays, but also making a connection with our listeners. Live Music Weeks presents a great opportunity for our DJs to thank loyal fans for their support and involvement with the station.
The All A Cappella show DJs are enthusiastic, energetic, and have a special relationship with their listeners. The audience for a completely a cappella show might seem unique, but the songs played cover a wide range of genres anyone can enjoy. The show also provides a chance for a cappella groups from all over the city and even country to showcase their hard work. Recently groups like Boston University’s BU Sweethearts have sung live on the program, and a number of other schools such as Dartmouth and Northwestern have sent groups as well. All A Cappella truly embodies the community-building values of WERS.
Live Music Week may be a lot of work, but our WERS DJs love the challenge. The studio always has a positive and upbeat atmosphere, and though everyone is focused and working hard, they are able to have some fun too. Anyone who listens to the show can tell our DJs love what their job, and want the listeners to enjoy the music as much as they do.
