Soundtrack w/ RZA, Kanye, The Black Keys

The RZA, a key member in the famous rap group Wu Tang Clan, has teamed up with famous director Quentin Tarantino in directing his own martial arts movie, The Man With the Iron Fists, which will hit theaters on November 2nd. Martial arts have always been a huge in influencing the Wu Tang Clans sound and their lifestyle. The soundtrack is coming out on October 23rd but you can stream the whole thing on the motion picture’s Bandcamp here.

While the album certainly revolves around rap from some of the most respected artists in the genre, RZA succeeds in making his movie’s soundtrack incredibly versatile. Artists like Corrine Bailey Rae, Tre Williams, and The Black Keys are featured on the album and there are other fantastic songs from lesser-known artists that are defiantly worth a listen. The Black Keys and the RZA collaboration in particular is fantastic. They have worked together before on the album Blakroc which managed to merge rock and rap in a way that impressively kept both of their musical styles in tack to create the song “Dollaz & Sense”. I have high hopes for the movie just from hearing the soundtrack; after listening to it I realized I would not be overwhelmed by rap the entire time and it has left me curious in wondering what songs will fit in where during this hopefully epic martial arts movie.
