The Black Keys, now one of the biggest bands in the world, have stated that they are set to work on the highly anticipated follow-up to El Camino next year. After doing a full scale arena tour of America earlier this year, which included headlining sets at Coachella and two nights at Madison Square Garden, The Black Keys should be content with their newfound success. However, guitarist and singer Dan Auerbach recently told Billboard. com that the duo have blocked off February and March for recording purposes. With Brothers and El Camino sales nearing three million worldwide, The Black Keys are looking to capitalize on their previous success. With no album released in 2012, The Black Keys broke their one-album-per-year streak that dates back to 2008.
Despite being on tour for the better half of this year, Auerbach has also played the role of producer for numerous artists including previous support act Hanni El Khatib and rising country star Nikki Lane. The duo have also collaborated with Wu Tang Clan’s RZA on a track for his movie The Man With The Iron Fists.
Keep your eyes peeled for their new album next year.
