Kid Cudi to Release New Album

Coming off his alternative rock collaboration WZRD with Dot Da Genius, Kid Cudi is energized to return to rap, and he’s quite confident about his return. The WZRD album, released in late February 2012, received mixed reviews from critics and fans alike. Those reviews, coupled with the lowest album sales in his career for the project, have Cudi returning to what his fans know him for best.

Kid Cudi began production for his next solo album shortly after WZRD’s release, and in June 2012 he posted “My best work, 4th album indicud”. Cudi is making up for lost time with this project, as INDICUD will be a double-disc with collaborations from some of the industry’s best. In July 2012 Cudi took to Twitter revealed his line-up in progress as “Kanye, Pusha, Jaden, Kendrick Lamar, Chip, Cage, got something for Hov I wanna play him, still gotta link w 50 and Banks”.

Since then he has released two songs from the project to gives fans a glimpse of the direction he’s heading. The first is “Just What I Am” featuring his longtime Cleveland collaborator King Chip. This month, Cudi released a second glimpse with the track “King Wizard”. Kid Cudi produced both songs, and was supposed to produce the entire album, but he has since mentioned interest in collaborating with Diplo and Ratatat.

As the release of indicud nears, Kid Cudi’s excitement continues to grow. Before the premiere of “King Wizard” he tweeted “mark my words, INDICUD will be the greatest album ever made. Know that I’m not lying”.

Although no official release date has been set, the moment of truth is said to be taking place later this year.
