Blur Return Once Again

In a move that will not shock fans familiar with Damon Albarn’s on-and-off again attitude, Blur have announced their 2013 return in the form of a set at Belgium’s Rock Werchter festival. Despite Albarn previously stating that their Olympic closing Hyde Park show earlier this year would be their last, Blur have once again surprised their fans. They will be headlining alongside Rammstein in what will be Blur’s first performance at Rock Werchter since 1999. In fact, this date is one of the very few dates to take place outside of Great Britain since their 2009 reunion tour that cumulated in headlining sets at Glastonbury, T in the Park, and two sold out nights at London’s Hyde Park.

For those who can’t make it to Rock Werchter, Blur announced on their Facebook that they will be looking to hit areas that they previously missed in their 2009 run. Their cryptic post simply stated: “We’re excited… hope to travel in 2013 to play to more of our lovely fans who we haven’t seen for a while. Don’t know where yet, we’ll tell as soon as we do… Stand by”. With speculation surrounding a new album and rumors of a Coachella set, it is an exciting time to be a Blur fan.
