The James Bond movies have quite a reputation when it comes to their theme songs. The franchise is notorious for using big name musical artists like Paul McCartney, Duran Duran, and Nancy Sinatra to perform the theme that plays in the opening credits of the famous spy series. And with the new James Bond film being released later this year, the speculation was high as to who was going to take the torch.
After rumors circulating for over a year, it was finally confirmed that Adele would be writing the song titled after the movie, Skyfall. I don’t think this comes as an enormous surprise after the multi-platinum artist’s success this past year with her powerhouse album 21 selling over 22 million copies. Despite the predictability, I am still very excited to hear Adele’s signature style lend itself to the iconic Bond world in what has rumored to be the best Bond song yet. “Skyfall” (the song) is scheduled to release on the 50th anniversary of the first James Bond film, Dr. No. You can get more information on Adele and her upcoming single on her website.
