Despite America’s plethora of late night talk shows, we don’t have anything quite like Later… with Jools Holland. Returning for its forty-first season, Later… is a show dedicated entirely to music. Hosted by Jools Holland, the show has been going strong since 1992. Despite focusing primarily on rock and indie music, Later… has featured everyone from Robert Plant to Mos Def to Kylie Minogue with special showcases for some of the western world’s finest rock bands including REM, Oasis, and Radiohead.
The latest episode aired last Wednesday and featured performances by Muse, Public Image Limited, and The Beach Boys. Next week will include WERS featured artist Mumford and Sons performing songs from their new album Babel, indie upstarts Savages, and two legends, Bobby Womack and Damon Albarn, performing songs from Bravest Man in the Universe. For those interested in watching the aforementioned performances, you can view the majority of the performances by going on to Jools Holland’s website which is a part of the greater BBC website.
